Living in Wild Rose

Researched July 2026 by our team · facts checked October 2026

Wild Rose is an established neighbourhood in southeast Edmonton’s Meadows area, with mature trees, finished parks and settled streets. Mill Creek runs along its southern border, linear parks and open-space corridors connect the green spaces (City of Edmonton), and Father Michael Troy Catholic Junior High School operates inside the neighbourhood. The housing is mostly single-family, with condos providing genuine entry-level access. It suits buyers who rank grown-in streetscapes and proximity over new-home warranty, and families who want the Meadows Community Recreation Centre, Tamarack Common retail and Mill Woods Town Centre all nearby. Anthony Henday Drive is about 2 km from the centre of the community. The insider angle: because this is a resale-driven market, condition and renovation history move value more than street address — so inspection quality and comparable-sale work matter.

Wild Rose daily life is walkable: linear parks and open-space corridors link the green spaces, paths lead to Mill Creek along the southern edge (City of Edmonton), and school and playgrounds are inside the community. The Meadows Community Recreation Centre — aquatic centre, fitness facility, twin NHL-sized arenas and library — is nearby at 2704 17 Street, Tamarack Common covers groceries and dining at 17 Street and 23 Avenue, and Mill Woods Town Centre adds a full shopping district with its transit hub just west. Whitemud Drive and Anthony Henday Drive handle the commuting, and Sherwood Park lies to the north-east.

New build or resale here?

Wild Rose is a resale market, full stop — construction wrapped years ago, so the live question is Wild Rose resale versus a new build in Aster or the Meadows’ remaining new phases. Wild Rose buys mature trees, finished parks and an on-site school. The new communities counter with warranty, current energy code and suite-ready floor plans. The variable that decides most deals here is condition: a well-maintained or properly renovated Wild Rose two-storey can compare well with a new build on total cost, but verify mechanicals, roof life and renovation permits carefully.

Are there new homes in Wild Rose?

Essentially no — Wild Rose is built out, so purchases here are resale. Buyers who want the Meadows location with new construction typically look at Aster, to the south-east, then weigh warranty and current code against Wild Rose’s mature streets. We run that comparison both ways.

How does Wild Rose resale compare with new construction nearby?

Wild Rose offers established-community amenities — mature trees, an on-site school, linear parks and paths to Mill Creek, the rec centre nearby — and we price each home against equivalent-size new construction next door. About this information. The guide’s text was researched July 2026; its facts were checked against official sources in October 2026. Distances are in a straight line from the centre of the outline on the map — to Edmonton City Hall for downtown, to the passenger terminal for the airport — rounded to the kilometre (those points © OpenStreetMap contributors); they are not driving distances, and the guides give no drive times. Homes for sale and the figures from them: the MLS® System (REALTORS® Association of Edmonton), read at 10:46 p.m. Edmonton time and rebuilt into this page every morning — homes only (houses, townhomes, condos and duplexes; no land, rentals or commercial listings).
