The Uplands at Riverview is the anchor community of Edmonton’s Riverview district, a Qualico-developed neighbourhood on the city’s south-west edge where the North Saskatchewan River valley and Wedgewood ravine system wrap the streets in genuine topography — a rarity on the prairie. What makes it unusual is the range: the same community offers laned homes, front-garage family homes and custom ravine-backing estates, which means buyers can start and stay here, moving up without moving out. It suits river-valley people — trail runners, dog walkers, cyclists — and anyone who wants west-end access via Maskêkosihk Trail and Anthony Henday Drive. The insider angle: ravine and walkout lots are the scarce commodity in every release, and they’re allocated fast; interior lots are far easier to secure and still put you two blocks from the trail network.
The river valley is the headline. The Uplands connects to the Wedgewood Ravine and North Saskatchewan trail systems, so a run or ride can take you toward Terwillegar Park’s footbridge on one side or the west-end ravines on the other. Inside the community, Qualico’s plan includes ponds, pocket parks and naturalized areas that lean into the existing tree stands. For retail, the Hampton Terrace and Edgemont Landing shops at 199 Street and Lessard Road cover groceries and daily errands, with the Currents of Windermere about 5 km to the south-east and West Edmonton Mall about 7 km to the north-east, both in a straight line. River Cree Resort and Casino on Enoch Cree Nation — dining, twin rinks, entertainment — is off Maskêkosihk Trail.
The Uplands is young enough that resale inventory is thin and recent — most listings are homes built within the last five to seven years. That compresses the usual new-versus-resale gap: a lightly lived-in resale often prices close to its replacement build, but with landscaping, blinds and deck already done. New construction wins on choice, especially for ravine lots and custom builds where the lot itself is the asset — you simply can’t buy what was never released. For laned and duplex product, compare a builder quick-possession against resale carefully, line by line.
As the guide lists them — designations follow your address
Designations follow the address — check a specific home with each board’s locator: Edmonton Public Schools — Find a School · Edmonton Catholic Schools — Locate Your School. Some Edmonton Public schools are full in some grades or use a lottery for new students; each school’s page on epsb.ca says which. School rankings: the Fraser Institute’s report card (on its own site).
We check school details against each board’s own published information and keep them as current as we can, but grades, programs, boundaries and enrolment can change at any time. Please confirm the details for a specific home directly with the school board before relying on them — school information here is a courtesy, not a guarantee.

It sits in southwest Edmonton, in the Riverview district along Maskêkosihk Trail just west of Anthony Henday Drive, above the North Saskatchewan River valley. About 15 km from downtown Edmonton (City Hall) and 18 km from Edmonton International Airport, in a straight line from the centre of The Uplands.
On there were 98 homes for sale in The Uplands on the MLS® System, starting at $317,998 (REALTORS® Association of Edmonton data). Duplexes and laned single-family homes form the entry level, front-attached-garage homes sit above them, and ravine-backing estate and custom homes top the range. The wide spread is deliberate — the community is designed to carry buyers from first home to final build. Builder pricing changes with each release — ask us for current price sheets.
Not yet within the community. Elsewhere in the Riverview district, Edmonton Catholic Schools’ St. Patrick K–9 has construction funding in River’s Edge (anticipated to open fall 2028), and Edmonton Public Schools has provincial funding to design a K–9 in Stillwater and plan one in River’s Edge, with no opening dates yet. The closest open schools are a few kilometres away, including Bessie Nichols (Edmonton Public, K–9) and Sister Annata Brockman (Edmonton Catholic, K–9) in The Hamptons. Designations follow the address — check a specific home with each board’s school locator before purchasing.
Occasionally — ravine and walkout lots are released in small numbers and are typically claimed within days, often through builder allocations rather than public releases. If a ravine lot is the goal, the practical route is registering with the builders holding those allocations before a release, which is exactly the kind of legwork we do for clients.

About this information. The guide’s text was researched July 2026; its facts were checked against official sources in October 2026. Distances are in a straight line from the centre of the outline on the map — to Edmonton City Hall for downtown, to the passenger terminal for the airport — rounded to the kilometre (those points © OpenStreetMap contributors); they are not driving distances, and the guides give no drive times. Homes for sale and the figures from them: the MLS® System (REALTORS® Association of Edmonton), read at 10:46 p.m. Edmonton time and rebuilt into this page every morning — homes only (houses, townhomes, condos and duplexes; no land, rentals or commercial listings). Tags come from the guide’s own text and those figures. We don’t rank neighbourhoods by safety; the Edmonton Police Service publishes its own data.
