Glastonbury, one of the Grange’s three neighbourhoods, began building in the late 1990s and was mostly built in the 2000s (City of Edmonton), south of Whitemud Drive and west of Anthony Henday Drive, and two decades on it wears its maturity well: grown trees, established parks, and Kim Hung School — an Edmonton Public Schools K–9 on Glastonbury Boulevard — just across the line in neighbouring Granville. Its location is the quiet advantage. West Edmonton Mall is about 4 km east in a straight line, Anthony Henday Drive runs along the community’s east side, and the Grange’s own retail along 199 Street handles daily errands. Its housing ladder starts with condos and climbs through duplexes and townhomes to single-family homes. It suits first-time buyers stepping up from renting, young families planning around walkable elementary years, and downsizers who want established-neighbourhood texture with condo-level pricing available. A practical note: 7th Avenue Realty works this market directly — our own listings have included Glastonbury homes — so our read on what’s moving, what’s sitting, and which streets carry the premium comes from the inside. That’s exactly the granularity worth having before you write an offer here.
Glastonbury’s rhythm is settled and local. Glastonbury Boulevard is the community’s central spine, with parks, playgrounds and connecting walkways branching off it, Kim Hung School just across the line in Granville, and the district’s pond-and-trail network linking toward Granville and The Hamptons for longer loops. The Grange retail area along 199 Street covers groceries, coffee and daily services without touching a major road, while West Edmonton Mall (170 Street), about 4 km east in a straight line, covers everything bigger. The Misericordia Community Hospital (16940 87 Avenue) is in the west end too, the Wedgewood Ravine lies to the south-east, and Anthony Henday Drive opens the rest of the city.
Glastonbury is fully established, so the live question is its resale value against new construction in the west-end growth communities — Secord, Rosenthal and The Uplands. Glastonbury resale delivers an operating K–9 school next door, twenty-year trees, finished fencing and landscaping, and a closer position to West Edmonton Mall and the city proper. New construction farther west counters with warranty, current energy code and modern floor plans. The honest test is a specific Glastonbury resale against a specific new build, with landscaping and fencing counted on the new-build side — we run both numbers before you choose.
As the guide lists them — designations follow your address
Designations follow the address — check a specific home with each board’s locator: Edmonton Public Schools — Find a School · Edmonton Catholic Schools — Locate Your School. Some Edmonton Public schools are full in some grades or use a lottery for new students; each school’s page on epsb.ca says which. School rankings: the Fraser Institute’s report card (on its own site).
We check school details against each board’s own published information and keep them as current as we can, but grades, programs, boundaries and enrolment can change at any time. Please confirm the details for a specific home directly with the school board before relying on them — school information here is a courtesy, not a guarantee.
New construction in and around Glastonbury
Glastonbury is fully built out; the occasional new home comes from small infill builders, and buyers wanting new construction in the west end typically compare nearby Secord, Rosenthal and the Riverview communities.
Ask us for current builder price sheets, and whether a price includes GST.
Kim Hung School, an Edmonton Public Schools K–9, sits on Glastonbury Boulevard just across the line in neighbouring Granville. Bessie Nichols (public K–9) and Sister Annata Brockman Catholic Elementary/Junior High (Edmonton Catholic Schools, K–9) are next door in The Hamptons, and Jasper Place High School is a public senior high in West Meadowlark Park. Check the current designations for a specific address with each board’s school locator before buying.

West Edmonton Mall is about 4 km east of the centre of Glastonbury in a straight line, reached by Whitemud Drive or 87 Avenue — close enough that the mall works as the community’s extended amenity package (cinemas, waterpark, dining, retail). The Grange’s own retail along 199 Street handles the daily basics much closer to home.

Choosing the street matters as much as choosing the house. Tell us what your days look like, and we’ll show you the neighbourhoods that fit, and the homes in them.
About this information. The guide’s text was researched July 2026; its facts were checked against official sources in October 2026. Distances are in a straight line from the centre of the outline on the map — to Edmonton City Hall for downtown, to the passenger terminal for the airport — rounded to the kilometre (those points © OpenStreetMap contributors); they are not driving distances, and the guides give no drive times. Homes for sale and the figures from them: the MLS® System (REALTORS® Association of Edmonton), read at 10:46 p.m. Edmonton time and rebuilt into this page every morning — homes only (houses, townhomes, condos and duplexes; no land, rentals or commercial listings). City figures and the outline: City of Edmonton Open Data, read . Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – City of Edmonton. Tags come from the guide’s own text and those figures. We don’t rank neighbourhoods by safety; the Edmonton Police Service publishes its own data.
